Revit. Parameterization. Check
Check — with this concise yet meaningful name we are releasing today’s update of the Parameterization plugin. Below we explain what it means.
New “Check” Mode
A new mode has been added to the plugin — Check:
You still create configurations, add strategies, and fill them with formulas. But unlike the standard mode, the Check mode compares the current value of the target parameter with the value calculated by the formula (more precisely, by the expression). Thus, the plugin turns from a parameter-filling tool into a parameter verification tool!
The appearance of this mode prompted us to add another useful feature to the results window — export to Excel:
If the current export option does not suit you and you have an idea on how to make it more convenient — be sure to tell us!
Step-by-Step Calculation
Many users create rather large and complex formulas where it is difficult to find errors. And sometimes it is simply unclear why the result of a formula differs from what you expected. To make working with formulas easier, we have added Step-by-Step Calculation:
Step-by-Step Calculation allows you to test the operation of a formula on a single selected element (or two, if a conditional source element is needed) with step-by-step output of calculations. You will see each step and how the formula changes after it!
We are confident that this feature will be very useful — after all, it even helped us find errors in our calculation algorithms!
Other Changes
- Search and multi-selection have been added to the view selection window; views selected in the Project Browser at the moment of launching the window are automatically marked in the list
- Case sensitivity is now taken into account when searching for parameters in elements
- Added the ability to specify linked files in which elements will be searched
- Fixed a bug where the results window always recorded a positive result for the SUM and JOIN functions, even if the function processing failed
- Fixed a bug where multiple SUM and JOIN functions in one formula were processed in reverse order (not in the order they appeared in the formula)
Other errors have also been fixed and additional improvements have been made, as listed in the change history.
